ALBAWABA - The uncontrolled forest fires that started on Thursday in Victoria, Australia, have destroyed 16,000 hectares of land and three residences.

Numerous inhabitants in the western region of the state received evacuation warnings due to the wildfires, which have resulted in the deaths of farm animals.

The blazes that forced over 2,000 residents to flee their communities on Thursday are being fought by at least a thousand firemen with the help of fifty firefighting helicopters. The fires have damaged at least three homes and burnt almost 16,000 hectares of vegetation.

The firefight is still going on in Victoria, and the local authorities are worried about the temperature rising. There are concerns that the flames near the towns of Beaufort and Elmhurst could spread over a large region owing to strong winds on Wednesday, when temperatures are predicted to rise to 40 degrees Celsius.

Known as the "Black Summer" of 2019–2020, the Australian wildfires destroyed an area the size of Turkey, killing an estimated 3 billion animals and 33 people.
