Visa International today announced it has appointed Majeed Hujair as General Manager of Visa International in Bahrain in addition to his current responsibility as General Manager for Kuwait. In his new role, Majeed will be focusing on further developing the company’s electronic payments business in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Employed with Visa International for the past one year as General Manager in Kuwait, Mr. Hujair, in his newly-expanded role, will be also responsible for the Bahrain market effective immediately.
Speaking of Hujair’s appointment as Visa’s Bahrain General Manager, Kamran Siddiqi, General Manager for Visa International CEMEA in the Middle East said: “We are pleased to appoint Majeed Hujair to this important role in Bahrain, one of our fastest-growing markets. Hujair’s wealth of experience has been beneficial to Visa and has driven our business significantly in Kuwait. His knowledge of the cards business and of the banking industry will be of great support to all Bahraini Visa member banks, merchants, and the Central Bank.”

In addition to expanding Visa’s business in Bahrain by partnering with member banks to develop new products and services and focusing on expanding its network of merchants across the country, Hujair will also focus on updating the technologies used by retail outlets which accept Visa cards to provide a more reliable and secure service. Furthermore, Hujair will also focus on working closely with local government authorities to address regulatory issues regarding the payment cards industry.
