The Violent winds that blew across Morocco in early March destroyed banana plantations in various regions of the country, Morocco’s official news agency (MAP) reported Thursday.

Morocco’s Association of Banana Producers in Morocco (APROBA) was quoted by the official news agency as saying that “significant damage” was reported mainly in the major producing areas near Rabat, Al-Jadida and Agadir.

In view of the seriousness of the situation, the Association called competent government authorities to assess the damage, said MAP – Albawaba.com
