ALBAWABA- According to an American defense official, US forces are currently conducting airstrikes on locations in western Iraq.
Iraqi security sources reported five explosions in the Jurf al-Sakhar area in Babil Governorate, south of Baghdad, attributed to US airstrikes.
The same official confirmed that the strikes are directed at sites belonging to the Hezbollah Brigades in Iraq.
This military action is in response to recent attacks against American forces in the region.
