UN inspectors arrived in Tehran Saturday, a day after the UN nuclear watchdog claimed Iran had failed to respect its nuclear safeguards agreement. Tehran has rejected the charge by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), insisting that it could provide "answers" to all the agency's concerns.
"We have done nothing which would violate our commitments regarding the NPT," (nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty), Iran's foreign ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Assefi said Friday, according to AFP.
Among the things it cited, the IAEA report claimed that were unreported importation of uranium in 1991 and its transfer for processing.
On Sunday, Iran's atomic energy chief, Gholam Rez Aghazadeh, and its foreign minister, Kamal Kharazi, are set to brief parliament's national security and foreign affairs committee on the country's nuclear policy and the latest developments. (Albawaba.com)
