Umniah Jordan selects KASTANA for its first bilingual mobile chatting service

Umniah Jordan, part of Batelco Bahrain Group, announced this week the launch of first fully Arabized mobile chatting service in Jordan through MixChat, KASTANA’s chatting and community platform, the service gives Umniah’s 700,000 subscribers the liberty of using mobile chatting service via SMS, WAP, and Web.

“We are happy to be launching this service for our customers, this is another milestone for Umniah in Jordan, this chatting service is unique because it provides Arabic and English interface to customers, with the liberty to chat with anyone anytime” Says Ms. Leila Rawashdeh, Senior VAS Officer at Umniah.

This is the first commercial deployment of MixChat in Jordan; it offers a comprehensive solution to the business and technical requirements stated in Umniah RFP. By implementing MixChat, Umniah is now able to offer a customer chatting experience on any wireless device using three delivery chatting channels SMS, WAP and web, taking into consideration future developments by adding an attractive chatting channels using Symbian and Java™ 2 micro edition (J2ME).

Umniah customers will enjoy many service features like sending invitations, creating own groups, blacklist, ignore list, hide status, offline and away message, changing nicknames, selecting the room and many other features, and Umniah will always have access to full service reporting through the advanced administration interface, where provocative nicknames and words can be blocked, real time stats per numbers, and other information are accessible.
