British Foreign Secretary Jack Straw has appealed to Cypriots to wait until the final version of a United Nations-proposed political settlement is in front of them before they pass judgment on it.
In addition, according to CNA news agency, Straw said that the prospect of European Union [EU] accession for Cyprus on May 1 supports a political process aimed at allowing a reunited island country into the Union and urged Europe to meet its commitment to support a settlement any way it can.
