The UAE Ministry of Education (MOE) has announced its partnership with PRO
TECHnology, a leading provider of communication, security and storage solutions,
with aims to provide a centralised access to academic resources across the emirates.
Under the terms of the strategic partnership, PRO TECHnology will provide secure,
fast and reliable wireless network to related educational zones and to all schools
under the recognition of the Ministry. Further, the company announced that the
implementation of the solution will be based on the latest radio and wireless
communication technologies.
The first phase of the 'Inter-School Wireless Point to Point' solution will
interconnect the Ministry of Education in Dubai, the Al Nouf Girls School in
Sharjah, the Umm-Ul-Quwain Educational Zone, and the Al Mualla Girls School in Umm
Al Quwain through an easily deployable network connectivity system. An in-depth
study was done by PRO TECHnology on the requirements of the Ministry as well as the
needs of academic institutions that are situated in various emirates, where the
company identified the importance of implementing wireless broadband to facilitate
unhindered communication across schools and the MOE itself. By adopting a robust
wireless interconnectivity system, the administrators can save on the expense of
installing and maintaining E1/T1 or other leased lines, while minimising the delay
and cost of obtaining a permit for the trenching to lay out the fibre lines.
