UAE’s Sharjah has won affiliation with the World Trade Center Association, reported the Gulf News on Wednesday.
Sources said this meant exhibition centers in the emirate could now enter the elite WTC club.
Meanwhile, the paper said that Expo Center Sharjah was in the midst of an ambitious project that will see it relocating to vastly more spacious premises in a three-phase expansion.
The first phase entails building two halls spread over 8,000 square meters, which are scheduled to open in the second half of next year.
The project, first envisioned in 1999, ran into delays initially, but construction started late last year, said the paper – Albawaba.com
