Turner Classic Movies brings legends back to life at the TCM Movie Nights in Dubai
After the sold-out premiere of the TCM Movie Nights, the classic film channel returns to Dubai for its third movie night, which will be a tribute to the icon Paul Newman.
Turner Classic Movies (TCM), the movie channel that brings classic film to life, brings classic films to the region with the TCM Movie Nights. After its much applauded premiere in June, the film nights return for the month of July to pay tribute to the iconically classic star Paul Newman. His award-winning film, Lady L, will be screened on July 22nd within a themed setting, allowing fans to go back in time and enjoy quality acting.
In a much applauded screen performance, Paul Newman stars as Armand Denis, a charming young man & bomb-throwing anarchist. Lady L. (Sophia Lauren) is an elegant, elderly lady who recalls the past loves and lusty adventures she has lived through. She tells her long time admirer, British poet Sir Percy, all about her eventful life. In the beginning, she was a young laundress working in "Le Mouton Bleu", a renowned Paris whorehouse. There, she met Armand (Paul Newman) , and it wasn't long before she became his mistress. One day while Armand was away in Switzerland, working for a revolutionary movement aiming to murder a Russian prince, Louise met the second man in her life,, a British Lord she soon called Dicky. The latter offered to marry her. In exchange, he would save Armand from the police's grip. She accepted on the condition she could still see Armand.
