Turkey, Iraq to Open another Customs Gate

Another customs gate is planned to opened between Turkey and Iraq, Anatolia Agency (AA) reported. 

Officials were quoted by the agency as saying that opening a second border gate than ``Habur`` border gate between Turkey and Iraq has been on the agenda for two years as a way of improving the commercial relations and enabling easy accession for Turkey to Arab countries.  

Within this framework, the Interior and Foreign ministry and the Office of Chief of General Staff have finalized security researches in the region, said Anatolia. 

The officials said another border gate can be opened and that the customs undersecretariat has launched efforts after the concerned institutions approved the opening the new gate.  

The exact site for the new border gate is not immediately clear, the officials noted.  

An official of the customs undersecretariat said that they are ready to lay the infrastructure and that they await only the decision about the location of the customs gate, it added – Albawaba.com
