King Fahd bin Abdulaziz of Saudi Arabia has sent a cable of congratulations to Tunisia's President Zine-al-abdine bin Ali on the occasion of the anniversary of evacuation from Bizert.
According to SPA, the Monarch "expressed his good wishes to the Tunisian President and people, and highlighted the existing fraternal relations between the Kingdom and Tunisia."
Similar cables of congratulations were sent to the Tunisian President by Saudi Crown Prince Abdullah bin Abdulaziz, and Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz, the Second Deputy Premier in Saudi Arabia.
It should be recalled that that in the early 1960s, Tunisia demanded France the evacuation of a naval base at Bizerte. After lengthy discussions, France did withdraw in October 15th, 1963.
