ALBAWABA - At the Republican Jewish Coalition's annual conference in Las Vegas, Nevada, former US President Donald Trump made a contentious speech in which he threatened to destroy Israel if Democratic nominee Vice President Kamala Harris won the presidency in the upcoming November election.
Trump said, "If Kamala Harris wins, Israel will no longer exist," addressing the crowd directly. He said that Jewish Americans who support the Democratic Party "need to have their heads examined," expressing his astonishment and disgust about it.
Trump also said that the catastrophic October 7 strikes on Israel by Hamas would have been avoided under his presidency. "Those attacks never would have happened if I had been president," he said.
Harris's team strongly denounced Trump's comments, calling on him to "openly insult Jewish Americans" and implying that he may "abandon Israel whenever it suits his personal interests."
The contest between Trump and Harris is heating up as the November 5 presidential election draws near, and key battleground states including Arizona, Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia are anticipated to be crucial in deciding the result of the election.
In addition to highlighting the growing tensions inside the presidential contest, the Republican Jewish Coalition event in Las Vegas also emphasized the potential implications of the election outcomes for U.S.-Israel ties and the larger geopolitical scene.
