ALBAWABA- U.S. President Donald Trump sparked speculation Saturday with a cryptic post promising a “real chance for greatness in the Middle East,” as sources confirmed advanced talks on a U.S.-brokered ceasefire plan for Gaza.
Israeli Channel 12 quoted Trump expressing hope that an agreement on Gaza could be reached in his meeting with Netanyahu and announced within days.
CNN reported that most elements of Trump’s Gaza plan were pre-coordinated with Netanyahu in detail.
Speaking to Axios and Israel’s Channel 13, Trump said negotiations with Arab states and Israel were “progressing very well” and could deliver the “first true opportunity for peace in the region.”
U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff met Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in New York on Saturday to finalize details.
According to diplomatic leaks, the 21-point plan calls for a permanent ceasefire, phased Israeli withdrawal, the release of Israeli hostages, and a $50 billion Arab-led reconstruction program under international oversight.
Hamas has signaled conditional support, while Israel demands stricter security guarantees before agreeing. If approved, the deal could mark the most significant U.S.-Arab-Israeli initiative on Gaza since the war began.
