Trend Micro Appoints New Account Manager to Enhance Channel Management

Trend Micro, the region’s key content security provider, today announced its recruitment of a leading member of the channel management profession.

“This appointment is part of our continued investment in personnel and proof of our commitment to an expanded service in the region,” said Justin Doo, Managing Director, Trend Micro Middle East/North Africa.

Zacky Vaz joins Trend Micro as channel account manager.  Vaz came to Trend Micro from Tech Data and has a wealth of distribution and channel experience.

The role of channel account manager can vary enormously, from proactively managing the channel partners and focusing on new business, to achieving set quarterly targets.
Vaz will be building and maintaining effective working relationships with customers and providing partners with strategic guidance and timely updates regarding development in Trend Micro products and technical enhancements.

“Recurrent and often spectacular successes throughout the 2005/2006 financial year have generated growth and increased channel awareness, placing demands on the organisation. Capable professionals such as Zacky Vaz are essential to charting a path through these new challenges,” according to Justin Doo.

Zacky Vaz will be based in Dubai and responsible for Abu Dhabi/Al Ain, Kuwait, Qatar and Jordan.

“I’m looking forward to driving the channel in this region and taking Trend Micro to greater heights,” said Vaz.

About Zacky Vaz:
Zacky Vaz has almost a dozen years of experience in the Middle East IT industry. He started his career as Sales and Service Manager with one of the key resellers on the main computer street, looking after the complete operations and building the reseller channel.
After five years with the reseller community, Vaz began working with Tech Data in October 2000, holding various positions after starting as Microsoft OEM Sales Specialist, where he engaged with all the PC assemblers in the region and drove the internal sales team in TD.
Vaz then joined the highly successful value-added enterprise business unit Azlan within Tech Data as a Senior Account Manager, handling a key set of Middle East accounts for enterprise vendors such as Cisco, CA, Microsoft, Symantec, HP Servers, Linksys, and APC. Shortly before coming to Trend Micro, he worked in the dedicated and vendor-focused role of ‘Product Sales Specialist’, primarily focused on key software vendors such as CA and Microsoft.
