Following a series of individual announcements about the appointment of a number of high level executives, the company will be presenting the full new team at Gitex 2006, held at Dubai World Trade Centre from 18th to 22nd November.
Thanks to consistent sales growth in recent years, Toshiba has now extended its reach in its operating countries by appointing a number of ‘on-the-ground’ managers whose role is to ensure channel relationships at the local level are at their strongest.
“The latest IDC results for the third quarter of 2006 position Toshiba at the top of the notebook market in the Middle East region. This is the result of the efforts my team and our channel partners put in to developing close relationships through the line,” said Ahmed Khalil, General Manager for Toshiba Computer Systems Division, Middle East and Africa. “I am very pleased to say these new members to the Toshiba family have already made a difference.”
The new team structure includes Santosh Varghese, promoted to Assistant General Manager; the appointment of Moataz Reda as Country Manager for Saudi Arabia, Mohamed Bensaid as Country Manager for GCC countries and Elia Mansour as Country Manager for Egypt and Levant. Leon Gifford has also been promoted to Country Manager for East Africa, Libya, Iraq and Yemen.
“These new roles in the team have been created with the idea of ensuring an even better flow of communication between Toshiba and our local channel partners, as well as our value-added resellers and retailers. Toshiba is shifting its focus into developing communication with our second tier partners by moving into sell-out focused activities,” added Khalil. “We want to ensure that growth is maintained with profit throughout the whole value chain and that our customers get the best experience possible.”
At Gitex, the company will show its full product portfolio spanning from the Qosmio range, the ideal digital hub for the home that will be demonstrated in a home cinema environment; to the Tecra range on the business side. Toshiba will be in Hall 3, Stand Number B3-10.
