TNT Express, the world’s leading business-to-business express delivery company, has appointed Sameer Khan as its first IT and Telecommunications Major Account Manager.

Indian national Khan joins TNT with over five years of regional industry experience where he was managing global high-tech and automotive accounts.

“TNT has seen an increase of 25% in its IT and telecommunications sectors over the last year as more multi-national companies are setting up in the UAE for the re-export of their finished product,” said James Edgeworth, UAE Sales Manager, TNT Express.

“With this growth, we have decided to adopt the high tech and telecoms sectors into our vertical markets strategy which aligns specific key account managers with industry sector knowledge.”

Khan will be responsible for TNT’s Major and Global Account clients as well as the provision of bespoke supply chain solutions.

“We have also seen an increase in demand for high-end items to hit the shelves more quickly than the traditional sea and air routes,” added Edgeworth.

“With long clearance times by sea and air into many GCC countries, TNT’s road service is becoming more viable for companies wishing to be faster to market.
By employing people who fully understand the very different requirements of varying industries, we hope to fulfil our customers’ rising expectations as their number one global express provider.”
