U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken visits Israel tomorrow. Axios reports that Blinken would meet with emergency government resignation leader Benny Gantz, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and other top officials. Blinken's visit shows worldwide interest in Israel's politics and security.

Members of Israel's War Cabinet Benny Gantz, who has been critical of the war in Gaza, which is now in its ninth month, announced his resignation from Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's emergency administration.

Regretfully, Gantz said at a news conference, "I officially announce my resignation from the government." Significant internal strife and discontent with Netanyahu's handling of the Gaza crisis preceded his decision.

Gantz said that Netanyahu was impeding Israel's "path to true victory" by making choices that were driven by politics. He demanded that early elections be held "as soon as possible" and that Defense Minister Yoav Gallant step down from his position in the administration.

Gantz urged Netanyahu to take decisive action to achieve the accord, voicing support for U.S. President Joe Biden's proposed prisoner swap pact.
