Shindagha Heritage Village is organizing a series of cultural activities and displays as part of DSF 2009. As a prominent cultural destination, the venue offers visitors and residents an insight into Emirati customs and traditions. Those visiting Shindagha can stroll through alleys of handicraft stalls, savour Emirati cuisine, hop on for camel rides, and see numerous traditional dance and music shows throughout the evening. A majority of the displays begin at 4pm and go on till 10pm.

Heritage Events provide visitors and residents in Dubai a close glimpse of UAE’s rich cultural legacy. The events, organized by the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM), are focussed at two places, the Shindagha area and the Hatta Heritage Village throughout the period of DSF from January 15 to February 15.

The most important of the events at both these places is the exhibition on the late HH Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan titled ‘Zayed – the Enduring Legacy’. Starting from his early childhood to his charismatic reign as President of the UAE, the exhibition throws light on the life of a truly dynamic leader.

Exhibits of handicrafts, traditional food, old living quarters, and attractions like the wedding shows are the highlights of Heritage Events.
