Bupa Arabia has added yet another accolade to its growing list of honours with the announcement that the company's CEO Tal Nazer has been recognized as the Preferred CEO of the Year award at the second annual Kingdom of Saudi Arabia HR Gathering & Awards event held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Jeddah on 15th and 16th of June 2010.
Tal Nazer was chosen by an independent panel of judges selected from Saudi Arabia's human resources and business community.
"Winning this award is a great honor and bears witness to our vision that a company which invests in its human capital is able to harness the power of its strong human resources towards serving its customers," said Tal Nazer. "This in turn has had a significant effect on Bupa Arabia outstanding growth figures in recent years," he added.
The Preferred CEO Award is designed to recognize the hands on contribution of business heads in working closely with the head of human resources to transform the company into a people-centric organization. This close collaboration between Nazer and Bupa's head of HR has resulted in numerous recognitions for the company.
This year, Bupa Arabia was ranked 4th Best Work Environment from among all Saudi companies ranked by an independent party. This is the third year in a row that the company has been recognized, having moved up from 8th placed last year. The company was also named Best Working Environment for Women in 2008.
In 2009, Bupa Arabia devoted 15,000 working hours to staff training implemented through courses and programs that included in-house group dynamics and workshops in partnership with third party vendors. In addition, selected employees benefited from seminars and programmes conducted outside of Saudi Arabia by the Bupa Group's own Talent Centre.
Bupa Arabia has also entered into partnership with the Human Resources Development Fund with a commitment to hire and develop the talents of Saudi youth, including women, into its workforce.
A pioneer in employing women since 2001, Bupa Arabia has the distinction of being an equal opportunities employer ensuring that salaries and benefits of staff members are standardized irrespective of nationality and gender.
As an executive initiative, Tal Nazer created a bonus scheme tied to achievement of business objectives. This ensures that each employee has a stake in the company and is rewarded when each one contributes to the attainment of Bupa Arabia's yearly targets.
