Syscom Emirates is gearing up to promote its SMS technology for fixed line phones during GITEX 2006. Syscom’s GITEX campaign will be marked by a fastest finger wins SMS competition held during GITEX and Shopper 2006. Syscom’s new technology allows landline phone users in UAE to send and receive SMS to and from other landline phone users or mobile phone users, while mobile phone users will also be able to text fixed line phones.
“Text messaging has become one of the hallmarks of the telecommunications revolution. Syscom is taking the unique step of extending this technology to fixed-line phone systems, ensuring compatibility between mobile and fixed line networks. Telecommunication service advances in recent years have mostly targeted mobile phones, with fixed line setups largely restricted to sending and receiving phone calls. Syscom is looking to change that by introducing service architecture for fixed line systems,” said Yawar Sajjad, General Manager, Syscom Emirates.
Syscom Emirates will hold a promotion at their stand (Z-02) at Gulfcomms 2006-Gitex (18- 22nd November) and at Trigon stand (EA4) GITEX Shopper (18- 24th November), to promote the fixed-line phone SMS service given the moniker “Syscom 2071SMS”. The telecoms provider will be holding a ‘Fastest Finger Wins competition in which a message will be displayed on the screen and the participants will have to type the message (SMS) and send it to a designated Syscom landline phone. The first two messages (SMS) to arrive at the landline phone will win a latest Syscom SMS fixed-line phone for free. The competition at the Gulfcomms- GITEX (stand no. Z-02) will be held at 12 pm, 3 pm and 6 pm whereas at the GITEX Shopper (Airport Expo stand no.EA4) will be held at 2 pm, 5 pm and 8 pm. All participants have to be present to win.
