Syrian President Bashar al-Assad sent Wednesday a cable of condolences to Brazilian Preident Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva expressing his condolences over the death of the UN's top representative in Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello, according to the official Syrian Arab news agency.
President Assad stressed Syria’s "denunciation of this criminal act", in referral to Tuesday's massive truck bombing in which Vieira de Mello and at least 19 others were killed. (Albawaba.com)
