Syrian Vice-President for Cultural Affairs Muhammad Zuhayr al-Masharqa said during the meeting with the Head of International Center for Dialogue Among Civilizations Ataollah Mohajerani that the international campaign for dialogue amongst civilizations must be counter-placed to the US campaign for globalization, according to IRNA.
For his part, Al-Masharqa, considered the idea of the dialogue amongst the civilizations as very important and evaluated the position of the center that was established for advancement of this idea as very high amongst world organizations.
Head of the international center for dialogue among the civilizations also pointed to the US efforts in the establishment of globalization and noted, "We, the Islamic countries need inter-cultural dialogue between ourselves".
Mohajerani pointed out that fortunately, Arab countries have experienced some success in this process, amongst which one can recall the measure taken by Arab League Secretary General Amr Musa, in the formation of an office calling for Islamic countries to establish dialogue that can be considered a positive and important step towards the advancement of dialogue amongst civilizations.
Others attending the meeting were Tarki Mumammad Saqer, the Syrian Ambassador to Tehran, Hossein Sheikholeslam, Iranian Ambassador to Damascus, Faez Esmaeil, the Secretary General of Arab Socialist Unionist Party, also secretary generals of Arab countries' socialists parties and some members of the international center for dialogue amongst civilizations.
