Syria's Information Minister, Ahmad al-Hassan says "Peace is Syria's strategic option and she is ready to resume the peace process according to the Arab peace initiative, declared at the Beirut Arab summit, based on [the] Madrid terms of reference and the land-for-peace formula."

In an interview aired Sunday night by Radio London, and cited by SANA news agency, al-Hassan said, "We are still adhering to the initiative, which is based on the full Israeli withdrawal from all the occupied Arab territories to [the] June 4, 1967 line and granting the Palestinians their legitimate rights."

Furthermore, he highlighted that the Arab peace initiative is still standing because all Arab countries have adopted it during the Beirut summit.

Moreover, the minister stressed that "Israel places obstacles before the peace process and tries to escape it under various pretexts".

He added that Damascus does not support "terrorism". According to him, Syria has sided with the Lebanese national resistance, which aims to liberate Lebanese lands from the Israeli occupation. (Albawaba.com)
