At least 20 people were killed Monday in two bombings in Idlib, in northern Syria. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported that the dead were mostly members of the Syrian forces. The bombs exploded near the headquarters of the military intelligence building in Idlib near the Turkish border.
Earlier in the morning, the official news agency SANA reported two bomb blasts in Idlib. They were blamed on "terrorists".
The SOHR also reported an explosion in Damascus, probably caused by a car bomb. "A strong explosion rocked the suburb of Qoudsiya and it seems it was caused by a car bomb. There are initial indications about victims," said a statement. Syrian state television on Monday reported an attack with a rocket-propelled grenade, which targeted the building of the Central Bank in the center of Damascus, adding that the attack resulted in only material damage.
Over the weekend, the violence in Syria claimed 70 lives, including 47 civilians, according to SOHR.
