experience with its new and affordable handset, the LG Cookie
LG Electronics, a worldwide technology and design leader in mobile communications, is expanding the touch-screen experience by introducing the most affordable and easy-to-use full touch-screen handset, the LG Cookie (KP500), in the Middle East market for AED 999.
Young or old, everyone loves cookies and they are a favourite in homes around the world. With the intuitive and easy to understand interface, the LG Cookie is the smartest gadget in the latest release of mobile handsets to hit the market. Versatile and optimised with essential features found on premium priced phones, the LG Cookie will be the handset everyone reaches for.
“The LG Cookie was conceived to reflect the desire of many consumers who want to own a full touch-screen phone at a reasonable price – at only Dhs999,” said Mr. K.W. Kim, CEO of LG Electronics Middle East and Africa Regional Company. “A more diverse segment of people will be able to experience the pleasure of using touch-screen phones as we expand our line-up in this range in the second half of this year.”
The Active Flash user interface of the LG Cookie is easy for anyone to understand with vivid widget icons on the wide 3-inch screen.
The widgets of the user interface give the LG Cookie a fun and lively way to interact with the handset, and widgets support most commonly used functions such as the analogue and world clock, calendar, picture frame, memo, MP3 player and FM radio. By touching, dragging and dropping, the function options can be arranged as desired and when the handset is shaken, they fall back into place.
Keeping in touch with friends has never been easier as the LG Cookie features an innovative interface that allows the user to attach a friend's photo for the speed dial feature and then page through the portraits and touch the friend to be called.
For music lovers, the LG Cookie has automatic synchronisation with Windows Media Player for quick uploads and simple music file management that can be sorted by artist, genres, albums or favourite playlists. When not using the media features, you can play the motion sensor games that recognise the player’s hand movements and requires shifting, flipping and moving the handset which makes for an interactive experience combining dexterity and intuition.
As a slim (11.9mm) and lightweight (89g) handset, the LG Cookie also has an embedded stylus pen concealed in the base that can be easily removed for the advanced handwriting recognition programme that allows the user to write memos and text messages, and also edit photo images by touching the screen with the pen tip.
With the LG Cookie, LG has expanded the touch-screen phenomenon to the “Touch Generation,” the huge number of handset users around the world adopting and integrating the technology into their daily lives. To continue to promote touch screen technology among more mobile phone users, LG will be hosting the “Free Touch” campaign that will be launched later this year.
