ALBAWABA- A suicide bomber detonated a car bomb outside the headquarters of Brigade 444 Combat in Bani Walid, southeast of Tripoli, Libyan media reported Tuesday.

In a statement, the brigade confirmed that the attack took place at the gate of its camp, describing it as a “terrorist operation.” Brigade officials said their forces quickly secured the area and brought the situation under control in its initial moments.

“We reassure everyone that the camp continues its operations with full readiness, with no breaches or losses recorded,” the statement read. 

The brigade vowed to pursue those behind the attack and reaffirmed its commitment to protecting Libya’s security.
