ALBAWABA - An airstrike was carried out by the Sudanese army leaving hundreds of people killed as it targeted a market in Darfur, AFP reported on Tuesday citing lawyers.

A war monitor accused the army of carrying out an air strike on a market in the western Darfur region leading to the death of hundreds on Tuesday.

Emergency Lawyers, a group of volunteer legal professionals who have documented atrocities on both sides of the war, reportedly said the Sudanese army made "an indiscriminate air strike on Tora market in North Darfur, killing hundreds of civilians and seriously wounding dozens".

According to the UN migration agency's Monday report, the ongoing war in North Darfur state in Sudan has forced the displacement of around “15,000 households” from the town of Al-Malha within 48 hours.

The International Organization for Migration report confirmed that intensified clashes between the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and the army were reported from Thursday to Friday, pushing families to look for safer areas within the same area.
