Strong Buying Opportunities in Life Settlements, Non-Distressed Assets Selling at Distressed Prices
Life Solutions International to Host Free Webinar on Opportunities in Distressed, Insurance-Linked Assets
The market for insurance-linked assets has become a buyer's market with conditions generally viewed as very favorable to those currently purchasing or entering the life settlements arena. This opportunity has resulted in part from the turmoil in the global financial markets, but these conditions are not expected to last forever.
While there is an opportunity for investors in this marketplace, many buyers are unsure of how to get started and where to obtain reliable information to evaluate this asset class.
On Wednesday, Feb. 4, Life Solutions International, a leading firm that assists purchasers of insurance-linked assets, in conjunction with its affiliate Life Settlement Solutions, a leading U.S. life settlement provider, is hosting the first webinar in the month-long educational series-–Insurance-Linked Investors Awareness Month (ILIAM)™-–entitled "Opportunities to Invest in Distressed Insurance-Linked Assets."
"The amount of buyers looking to take advantage of the unprecedented buying opportunities in insurance-linked assets has grown significantly," said Larry Simon, president and CEO, Life Solutions International. "We are seeing a spike in interest from investors in a variety of industries coming to us to learn more about life settlements, premium finance and the related products. We are hopeful that this webinar on distressed assets, as well as all ILIAM events, will help bridge the education gap and allow for more investors to successfully enter this growing market."
The webinar will feature a panel of industry experts, including Steve Boger, president of Boger & Assoc., LLC-–a consulting actuarial firm; Daniel Passage, partner at O'Melveny & Myers, LLP in Los Angeles; and Larry Simon. Each panelist will bring a unique perspective on critical aspects of understanding insurance-linked assets as part of their respective presentation.
The first panel will be held at over the Web at 10:30 a.m. U.S. Pacific time; there is no cost to attend. Institutional participants from all sectors, including hedge funds, private equity, pension plans, insurers and re-insurers, and family offices, are invited to attend.
Other events that are a part of ILIAM include a two-part series on Insurance-linked investment and industry trends, with the first part of the series held on Feb. 10 and the second part on Feb. 17; and a panel on premium financing held on Feb. 12. Additional events are being planned for the end of February and will be announced as they become available.
