Steven D. Dalrymple, a technology industry veteran with strong experience leading companies in rapidly changing markets, has been named chief executive officer of USRobotics, the company announced recently.
Dalrymple replaces Joseph Hartnett, who engineered the sale of USRobotics to Platinum Equity in August 2005 and led the company through its transition in the intervening year.
“Joe Hartnett played a pivotal role in positioning USRobotics for the future,” said Paul Bridwell, senior vice president at Platinum Equity. “We are confident there will be a smooth transition as he passes the reins to Steve Dalrymple.”
Dalrymple most recently served as CEO of another Platinum Equity company, Vanguard Managed Solutions LLC, which is the largest independent managed services provider in the United States and a leading source of enterprise networking equipment. Dalrymple will remain on the Board of Directors at Vanguard Managed Solutions LLC.
“Steve brings a strong background in enterprise networking to USRobotics,” Bridwell said. “At Vanguard he led a business transformation that re-established the company in the managed services space, while sustaining both customer retention and financial
performance.”
“We expect him to be similarly effective at USRobotics, guiding the company through a rapidly changing marketplace and building a successful, long-term future for the company.”
