In a bid to prevent private schools in UAE from committing any violations in their teaching curriculum, the Ministry of Education and Youth has made it incumbent from the new academic year 2001-2002 upon private schools to submit all necessary information about the curriculum and the books being taught, Khaleej Times reported Sunday.
According to a circular issued by the ministry the measure is aimed at preventing private schools from committing any violations in their teaching curriculum.
Private schools, the daily said, which do not follow the ministry's curriculum have to deposit with the ministry a floppy disk containing the following data regarding books: the title, author, publisher, date of publication, grade and subject.
An official at the ministry was reported by the paper as saying that “such measures need to be taken in order to ensure the standard and quality of education imparted to the students and these are part of our responsibility,” – Albawaba.com
