Onscreen Dracula Christopher Lee, who holds the record for the times he played the blood sucking villain, has signed on to star in Star Wars: Episode II, reported Mr. Showbiz on Tuesday.

Details are scarce on the character Lee will play and Lucasfilm’s only comment is that the former Dracula will play a “charismatic separatist.” A what?!

Although it would seem to some that this would be the first Star Wars experience for the 78-year-old star, it is not.

Lee played another holly-cheeked horror staple, Peter Cushing (aka Grand Moff Tarkin) in the first Star Wars, said Mr. Showbiz.

Lee's recent credits include parts in Sleepy Hollow and the miniseries Gormenghast, Ivanhoe, and The Odyssey.

Of his joining the Star Wars pantheon, Lee says, "It will be more than another part. It will be another arrow in my quiver. I'm looking forward to it enormously."

Filming is already underway for the yet-to-be-titled space saga. While numerous Aussies have filled in smaller roles, Lucasfilm has yet to announce who's playing cult figure Boba Fett, reported Mr. Showbiz—albawaba.com.
