ALBAWABA - Jordanian Armed Forces revealed that one smuggler was killed in clashes between border soldiers and a group of armed smugglers who attempted to sneak into Jordan early Sunday morning, PETRA news agency said.
Local media reported that one was killed, while the rest returned to Syria after they attempted to enter the Kingdom by taking advantage of the unstable weather conditions and the spread of fog on the border front of the Eastern Military Region.
The army continued that large quantities of narcotics were seized, in addition to two automatic weapons (Kalashnikov) and a pistol. The seized materials were transferred to the competent authorities.
A Jordanian guard soldier was also injured in the clashes and he was air-transfered to get medical care.
