Showtime, the region's premier pay TV network have recently extended their “Direct To Home” (DTH) access to audiences in Qatar. An 11 dealer network has been added to the services already available through Qtel’s Qatar Cable Vision Services, with an increased number of channels. Qtel is Qatar’s telecommunications company that provides telephony, mobile, data, Internet and cable television services to the people of Qatar.
“Showtime TV channels proved to be very popular in Qatar, so we're delighted now to be able to offer our audience an even bigger choice of top quality entertainment via the newly established dealer network,” says Cliff Nelson, Showtime's Vice President of Marketing.
A total of 11 channels are now available including family favourites like Discovery Channel, Animal Planet and Nickelodeon. There are three channels of block buster movies along with a dedicated Arabic film channel, Al Shasha. Drama, comedy and soaps make up an unrivalled menu of entertaining TV choices on TV Land, Hallmark and the Paramount Comedy channels.
The DTH service in Qatar offers a variety of benefits including free dish, free installation and a free decoder. With such incentives to stay glued in front of the small screen, Showtime predicts that audiences in Qatar will soon become bigger than they ever imagined.
