Shell Aviation launches AeroJet fuel in the Middle East at Middle East Business Aviation

Shell Aviation, a division of Shell Markets Middle East, has announced the launch of a new fuel service in the Middle East, dubbed AeroJet fuel. This premium aviation fuel service was introduced at the Middle East Business Aviation event held on November 16th – 18th.

Shell AeroJet offers a range of benefits to operators and owners of turbine aircraft as well as to pilots across selected countries worldwide.  Shell AeroJet minimises or eliminates problems previously associated with the use of Jet A1 in business jets, turbo-prop aircrafts and helicopters.

“Shell AeroJet fuel is the most recent addition to Shell Aviation’s portfolio of new propulsion technologies,” said Richard Jory, Regional General Manager, Shell Aviation, Middle East, South & Central Asia, Africa. “AeroJet is currently available in the Americas, Europe and Australia and the launch in Dubai will expand our network to the Middle East. We are pleased that we can now cater to the needs of our customers in the region”.

The fuel service incorporates anti-fungal, anti-icing and anti-static qualities that tailor to the needs of aircrafts flying in different regions, weather conditions and heights. AeroJet contains an active biocide/fungicide additive that prevents growth of bacteria and fungi in a tank which is caused by the formation of water. The air inside fuel tanks contains moisture which has the potential to turn into ice – the anti-icing additive prevents this problem and gives added security in case of fuel heater system breakdown.  The anti-static additive helps dissipate the electrostatic load before it reaches dangerous levels. A major advantage of AeroJet fuel is assurance that the fuel has been dosed with the additive at the required rate, each time, without any exposure to harmful vapours.

Shell AeroJet fuel is the latest in a series of innovations by Shell Aviation following the launch of the High Performance Capability turbine engine oil, AeroShell Ascender, in 2007.  This diversified product portfolio has enabled Shell Aviation to become a one-stop destination for all fuel and lubricant requirements, servicing a range of fleet engine types such as the TurboJet, TurboFan or Turboprop engines. Shell Aviation also provides global representation and contract for supply, world-class technical advice and support from a single technical marketing centre with strong links to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs).
