Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi attends graduation ceremony at HCT RAK Men's College

Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud Al Qasimi, son of H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, attended the graduation ceremony held at the Ras Al Khaimah Men's College (RKMC) for the graduates for the academic year 2007- 2008 and 2008-2009 here.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Saud presented certificates to as many as 242 graduates of the Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Higher Diploma and Bachelor Degree programmes of RKMC at the ceremony attended by students, teachers, parents and other dignitaries.

Dr.Robert D. Moulton, Director of the HCT Ras Al-Khaimah Colleges, said, “We are very proud today in celebrating the success of our students who have worked hard and we wish them success in their future endeavours as well as great careers. The students of RKMC have done very well this year, finding great jobs on graduation and some even before graduation.”

He said that HCT Ras Al Khaimah colleges are excited about the setting up of new campus for the Ras Al Khaimah Women’s College, the construction of which will commence next month. “We will also be starting new bachelor’s degree programmes in Mechatronics and Applied Media Technology. Ras Al Khaimah Colleges will also be having new Master’s degree programmes this fall in Information Technology, Executive MBA and Education Master’s in teaching English as a second language,” Dr. Moulton added.

Graduating student, Suood Lemash thanked the RKMC teachers and staff for helping the students achieve their dreams through proper guidance and support. “We would also like to thank the UAE leadership and especially H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of HCT, for having the vision to invest in the youth of this country by setting up the Higher Colleges of Technology.”

The Higher Colleges of Technology is the largest higher educational institution in the country with 18 campuses and current enrolment exceeding 18,000 students, all UAE nationals. The RAK Men’s and Women’s Colleges together have a student strength of around 1900 students.

Sheikh Abdullah bin Humaid bin Abdullah Al Qasimi, Office Manager of Ras Al Khaimah Crown Prince, Sheikh Mohammed bin Kayed Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of RAK Economic Development Department and Mohamed Sultan Al Qadi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of RAK Properties were among the dignitaries present on the occasion.
