Ras Al Khaimah Free Trade Zone (RAK FTZ) was presented last Tuesday with two awards – Young Achiever of the Year, the Best Emerging Free Zone - at the Middle East Logistics Awards 2006 (Mela). These awards highlighted the extended efforts the RAK FTZ exerts to provide its clients with state of the art facilities and services. Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Chairman of the RAK FTZ received the Young Achiever Award and the RAK FTZ was presented with the Best Emerging Free Zone Award at first annual ceremony.
Oussama El Omari, CEO & Director General of the RAK FTZ said the "Young Achiever of the Year Award" presented to Sheikh Faisal came in honor for the various projects and initiatives Sheikh Faisal conducted in the emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. He stressed that Sheikh Faisal deserves the honor for his involvement in developing the emirate's logistic services which can compete currently on regional level.
He added that being presented with these awards were the outcome of the pro-investment strategies the zone adopts under the directives of Sheikh Faisal and clearly indicates that the RAK FTZ is going just on the right track and actively takes part at the RAK comprehensive economic development. He stressed that these awards will motivate the zone for even more and better development and success.
Maryam Al Murshedi Al Shehhi, the Assistant Director of the RAK FTZ said the zone has been presented with these awards after six years of zone's setting up and operations. She added that the zone which is a true success story had brilliantly benefited from the experiences of other players in the field.
MELA aims to honor companies and establishments which demonstrate stellar performance in the highly dynamic and competitive world of logistics business. The first awards ceremony held at Madinat Jumeirah, Dubai last Tuesday where the nominations, voting and results processing were audited by AGN Mac.
