The Sharjah City for Humanitarian Services (SCHS), a charity set up to help children with special needs, recently received a cheque for Dh.30,000 from Dunkin Donuts General Manager, David Rodgers. The amount represents the coffee and baked goods recently.
“We have been supporting the activities of SCHS for many years now as part of our company’s policy of actively supporting worthwhile community activities in the society,” said Mr. Rodgers.
He added that "Dunkin Donuts was impressed by the scope of SCHS’s activities and would look at ways to strengthen our involvement with this charity over the coming years.”
He added that helping SCHS is “our way of saying thank you to the UAE community. We have celebrated recently the ten million cups of coffee served to its emirates customers.
“Dunkin Donuts has a social responsibility to help out and give something back to the local community,” said Mr Rodgers. “We will continue to look at ways of how we could be of assistance to deserving local charities even as we go on a programmed expansion in the UAE .”
To support Dunkin’ Donuts expansion drive, a new state-of-the-art US$5 million commercial kitchen in Sharjah was opened recently. The kitchen produces from 35,000 to 40,000 multi-coloured donuts each day and these are delivered fresh to 115 points across the country. The kitchen includes a warehouse for storing the flour and mix, a kitchen for preparing and baking the donuts.
