Sharaf Foundations, a leading ground engineering company in the region, has announced that it has recently been awarded a contract for enabling and piling works on The Creek Towers and Plaza at Dubai Maritime City, the world’s first purpose-built maritime city and a member of the Dubai World Group of companies. With an impressive track record in handling high-profile projects all over the region, Sharaf Foundations has been considered an invaluable addition to the multi-million dirham project, which will serve as the centrepiece of the region's maritime industry.
Under the contract, the company’s work on the project has been divided into five major areas, being shoring, piling, pile load testing, excavation and dewatering, over a total area of 69,371 square metres. In addition, two concrete batching plants will be set up each capable of delivering over 120 cubic metres of concrete per hour - achieving the daily production target of 3,000 cubic metres. The company will also strive to achieve Gold certificate for environmental compliance in accordance with Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating. The project is expected to be completed in third quarter of 2009.
