Smart LED Technology, Advanced Media Solution
Create Samsungs TV Series 9 in 2009

Samsung Electronics, the global leader in consumer electronics and advanced technology solutions, launched today its new Series 9 TVs that take consumers to the pinnacle of current television technology.
The new series of Full HD LCD TVs packs all of the latest technological innovations in picture quality, design, and advanced media solutions that define Samsung’s leadership in the flat panel TV industry.

The company’s smart LED technology is at the heart of the series, providing the truest blacks and the highest contrasts available today. It works by an intelligent system called local dimming, which senses input signals and intuitively turns on or off individual lights in the array of LED backlights only as required. In addition to providing outstanding picture quality, the LED technology also results in a significant reduction in power consumption.

“This product successfully incorporates environment-friendly elements both in its design and screen quality,” said Bojoong Kim, General Manger of Samsung Gulf Electronics’ Audio Visual division.

The technology is partnered with Samsung’s patented Ultra Clear Panel, which adds an extra layer that cuts out reflection and provides enhanced clarity and color rendering.

Series 9 TVs (46 and 55 inches) also incorporate Samsung’s top-line picture engine, DNIe Pro, which is an enhanced version of the company’s renowned Digital Natural Image Engine, and Full HD 1080p capability for resolutions of 1920*1080, roughly double that of existing HD-capable TVs.

Design has not been sacrificed for the sake of technological advancement. All of the cutting edge technology in the Series 9 has been encased in Samsung’s striking new crystal design, which not only augments the discerning style of even the trendiest indoor décor, but also reduces the TV’s overall environmental footprint with an innovative production process that creates the units’ subtle color gradations without a second-step coloring process. Together with the Series 9’s new and luxurious platinum black finish, the result of is an elevation of craftsmanship suggesting the natural beauty and elegance of crystal.

That elegance is further enhanced by a unique pebble-shaped remote control that sits at the base of the TV to add style and convenience to the unit’s main remote, which has also been redesigned with a special wheel-key feature for ease-of-use.
This new series introduces consumers to a new era of television usability with an array of media solution features that expand functions and provide a new experience beyond what other digital TVs offer. InfoLive keeps busy professionals connected to the latest news and information with a built-in RSS viewer that can be positioned unobtrusively on the top or bottom of the screen. And new software developed by Samsung and installed on users’ home PCs works with DLNA for easy networking with other TVs enabling simultaneous viewing of multimedia content on screens in other rooms.

Also, users can easily connect to, browse, and view their own content, whether downloaded or personally created, through WISELINK Pro’s fast USB 2.0 connection. Samsung further enhances the experience by shipping the TV with a Content Library, which holds a variety of useful and interesting content, such as a gallery of art that can alter the room décor, cooking and fitness programming, games, and other fun content for kids. Series 9 users can also download specially prepared content download from Samsung.com and connect it to the TV by USB.

And all of that content is easily controlled through a much simplified Smart Content Manager interface. Technology buffs will also appreciate an extra HDMI 1.3 connection (1 side, 3 rear) which enables all their high resolution peripherals to be connected at the same time without an additional adapter.
