The content we collect and share – the movies, music, books, work, art and photos – define who we are and has become an integral part of our digital lifestyle. With the announcement of the new family of Seagate FreeAgent™ data movers in the Middle East today, wherever you are and whenever you need it, Seagate Technology makes sure “your” on. The event held in Dubai as part of a worldwide launch roadshow is the third event in the EMEA series after Germany and Poland.
With the innovative and stylish data movers, Seagate has moved beyond traditional “storage in a box” keeping consumers not only connected to their content, but also to their desktop computing environment including Internet favorites, settings and passwords, email, instant messaging and more from wherever they are.
Distinguished by a unique mix of onboard and online content management tools and a chic and contemporary design, the new Seagate FreeAgent solutions are both beautiful and functional to match consumers’ digital lifestyles. Ensuring the highest product quality and reliability, all Seagate FreeAgent desktop and portable solutions feature an unmatched five-year limited warranty, and are expected to be available worldwide via the company’s global network of retailers and distributors beginning February 2007.
Addressing the press conference, Andreas Hasse, Head - Retail Sales, Seagate EMEA said, “Seagate is moving beyond ‘just storage,’ offering innovative products that differentiate our Maxtor and Seagate brands, separate us from the competition, and help us grow the consumer storage category”. He added, “Our Maxtor product portfolio remains the leading backup and data protection brand. But for the Seagate consumer brand and the FreeAgent products, it’s about lifestyle, freedom and portable digital content. It’s literally about being able to escape the confines of your desktop or your laptop – and have your content available to you where you need and when you need it. The fact that there’s a hard drive inside is really secondary. Instead, we’re focusing on managing the content that surrounds our experience in life.”
With the announcement of our FreeAgent data movers, we’re connecting with consumers in the Middle East on an emotional level by giving them the lifestyle tools to help them move, work and play with their content virtually anytime, anywhere,” said Ziad Abou Rahal, Channel Manager, Middle East at Seagate Technology. “The Middle East is a very important region for us and by bringing the new FreeAgent family of products we will be in the right position to tap into this fast growing market.”
The new Seagate FreeAgent data movers are designed with innovative hardware and software features for users seeking to keep their growing digital content and media files at their fingertips. The individual products in the FreeAgent data movers family include, the FreeAgent Pro data mover in capacities of 320 GB, 500 GB and 750 GB, FreeAgent Go in capacities of 80 GB, 120 GB and 160 GB, FreeAgent Go Small (12 GB) and the FreeAgent Desktop data mover in capacities of 250 GB, 320 GB and 500 GB.
