Sana’a appeals court confirms sentences of 15 men involved in bombing attack

The Appeals Court of Sana’a upheld on Saturday the senntence against 15 convicts in the October 2002 bombing of the French oil tanker, Limburg, off Hadhramout coast.

 

According to SABA news agency, the court sentenced two of the defendants Fawaz al-Rabyi and Hizam Mojalli to death for killing Yemeni solider Hamed Khasrof in Abyan province and fined them YR 300.000 for the victim's family.

 

The other 13 convicts were sentenced to jail terms ranging from three to 15 years as follows:

Omar Sayid Jar-Allah: 15 years;
Fawzi al-Hababi: 15 years;
Muhammad Saied al-Ammari: 10 years;
Fawzi al-Wajeh: 10 years;
Yasser Ali Salem al-Madari: 10 years;
Abu-Baker Yahya al-Rabei: 10 years;
Ebrahim Mohammad al-Hoaedi: 5 years;
Aref Saleh Mojlai: 5 years;
Mohammad al-Daelmi: 5 years;
Abdul-Ghani Qaefan: 5 years;
Qassem al-Raemi: 5 years;
Khaled al-Jalob: 3 years;
Salem al-Daelmi: 3 years;

 

The court also fined Fawaz al-Rabyi and his brother Abu-Baker YR 18 million as a compensation for the damages inflicted by the bombing to the building of the General Authority for Civil Aviation.
