Saif Saeed bin Saed, UAE Foreign Ministry's Under Secretary, met in Abu Dhabi on Sunday with the Deputy Mayor of the Chinese city of Shanghai, who concluded a visit to the UAE earlier Sunday, according to Emirates News Agency.
Saed stated that the Chinese official asked for the UAE’s support for China's bid to host the International Trade Exhibition in Shanghai in the year 2010. The location of the exhibition will ultimately be decided during a meeting scheduled to be held in Paris in December 2002.
The Chinese official's visit was made in the framework of a tour of the countries in the region to rally support for Shangahi's bid to host such an international event in the future.
Ismail Obeid Yusuf al-Ali, Director of the Ministry's Asian and African Affairs, Juma Rashid Jasim, UAE Ambassador to China, and Zhang Zhijun, Chinese Ambassador also attended the meeting. (Albawaba.com)
