Russian president hold video call with Chinese counterpart

ALBAWABA - Hours after the inauguration ceremony of US President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian leader Vladimir Putin held a video call on Tuesday, AFP reported citing Beijing's state media.

Chinese state broadcaster CCTV reported that Xi and Putin "held a video meeting at Beijing's Great Hall of the People on the afternoon of January 21".

No further details about what the two presidents discussed were disclosed by the Chinese media. 

In New Year, the Chinese leader sent a message to Putin and promised to enhance "world peace and development", according to a contemporary CCTV report.
