ALBAWABA - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov landed in the Iranian capital of Tehran Tuesday, according to local Iranian media.

Lavrov is scheduled to hold talks with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, the ISNA news agency said. The talks will include "Russian-Iranian relations, and several current international issues.

Russian Foreign Ministry posted a photo of Lavrov from Iran airport and wrote: "Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey #Lavrov arrives in Iran on a working visit."

The visit comes a day after marking the third anniversary of the Russian-Ukrainian war during which Moscow was able to control about 11 percent of Kyiv's land.

The UN refugee agency confirmed that by 2024, more than 6.3 million Ukrainian refugees had fled the war and are living in Europe. Over 12,300 civilians have been killed and over 27,000 others injured in Ukraine during the three years of conflict, according to the UN Human Rights Office.
