ALBAWABA - Russia returned the bodies of 1,245 people to Ukraine, Kyiv revealed Monday.

This move was a part of the final stage of an agreement to repatriate bodies of over 6,000 soldiers killed in clashes with Moscow amid the ongoing war, which started in February 2022.

The deal was agreed during peace talks in Turkey earlier this month.

"Another 1,245 bodies returned to Ukraine: repatriation part of Istanbul agreements has been completed," the government agency coordinating the repatriation said in a statement.

Moreover, Ukraine's defence minister revealed that his country received more than 6,000 bodies in total over the past week.
