ALBAWABA - US Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced in an interview that aired Tuesday that talks with Russian officials regarding a ceasefire agreement to end the war with Ukraine have made "some progress".

"And so what we have tried to do, and I think have made some progress, is figure out, what could the Ukrainians live with that gives them security guarantees for the future," Rubio told Fox News host Sean Hannity.

He added that the United States hopes the settlement "allows them not just to rebuild their economy, but to prosper as a country."

Peace talks resume in Moscow:

It is worth mentioning that U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump's son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner arrived yesterday at the Kremlin in Moscow as part of peace talks to end the Ukrainian war.

On the other hand, an adviser at the meeting revealed that talks between President Putin and Witkoff were "constructive", but there is "more work to do".

Moreover, Foreign policy adviser Yuri Ushakov also revealed that "no compromise" was reached between Putin and Witkoff over territorial concessions by Kyiv, BBC reported.
