ALBAWABA - On Saturday, the Rapid Support Forces bombed the Abushok displacement camp in El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, killing at least seven people and injuring scores more, as violence in the Darfur area escalates.

The Abushok camp shelters around 400,000 people who have been displaced by violence. More than 60% of the camp's population had already evacuated to Tawila and other regions in Jebel Marra as a result of prior RSF attacks.

RSF artillery also targeted civilians in El Fasher's western and southern suburbs, as well as the city center. The firing also targeted the headquarters of the 6th Infantry Division, El Fasher Airport, and the adjacent surroundings.

In a statement commenting on the horrifying attack,  the Abushok camp emergency room said "Continuing its series of crimes and violations against citizens, the Rapid Support Forces bombed the Abushok camp market with more than ten shells,".

In response, a Sudanese military warplane launched airstrikes on RSF positions in the eastern and southern areas of El Fasher, resulting in massive explosions and plumes of smoke in the air.

Separately, the Sudanese Armed Forces announced gaining control of the capital city of Sinnar State in central Sudan, which had been controlled by the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces for months now.

Khalid Aleisir, the Sudanese minister of culture and information, said in a statement "Today (Saturday), Singa city has returned to the homeland ... The moment of justice and accountability shall come, and all those complicit in these crimes. The criminals will be held accountable for their actions,".
