Royal Mausoleum of Mauritania on the List of World Heritage in danger

Classified in 1982 by UNESCO as one of the sites of the world inheritance, the royal Mausoleum of Mauritania, more commonly known as "Tomb of the Christian woman" was listed as one of the world heritages in danger according the list prepared by UNESCO's committee of world inheritance. The Royal Mausoleum of Mauritania, which is located in Tipasa, was exposed to degradations by terrorists between 1993 and 1997. The Mausoleum was also recently the subject of a malevolent act by "visitors", who tried to smash the wall protecting the door of the tomb.
