ALBAWABA- Osama Hamdan, a senior member of Hamas's political bureau, has brought to light severe allegations of Israeli crimes against Palestinian detainees, with a particular focus on the plight of female prisoners.

Hamdan revealed that since October 7, Palestinian female detainees from Gaza have been subjected to numerous forms of torture and violations. He reported threats of rape to force confessions against Hamas, marking a disturbing escalation in the treatment of these prisoners.

Hamdan emphasized that over 16,000 Palestinian women have been arrested by Israeli forces since 1967. He also criticized Israel's lack of a clear proposal for a permanent ceasefire and withdrawal from Gaza, instead noting that Israel only wants a temporary halt to take back its prisoners and resume the conflict.

The Hamas leader called for international pressure on Israel to allow visits to prisoners and detainees, condemning the silence of international institutions on these issues.

He highlighted that the occupation forces have detained more than 4,000 people from Gaza and over 200 Palestinian children since October 7, all facing harsh conditions.

Among the reported violations are systematic field executions, amputations due to torture and abuse, and severe medical neglect leading to deaths. Hamdan called on Arab, Islamic nations, and friendly countries to keep the issue of Palestinian prisoners diplomatically and popularly present, urging for a fair exchange deal that ensures freedom for Palestinian prisoners.

The humanitarian crisis is underscored by the recent discovery of 225 bodies of Palestinian prisoners by UNRWA, which were taken from Gaza.

This stark reality reflects the ongoing suffering and dire conditions faced by Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, which Hamdan insists must be addressed urgently by the international community.
